Najma Ahmed

Mental Health Practitioner

Najma Ahmed (she/her) is a graduate-level mental health practitioner who sees adults and teens. Najma enjoys working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and those making the transition into adulthood. Najma is especially interested in working with teens navigating friendships, self-esteem and identity.

As a 2nd generation immigrant, Najma understands the unique pressures of navigating more than one culture while developing personal identity and a sense of belonging. She provides a warm, culturally responsive space where your whole self is fully seen and supported.

Before beginning her path to becoming a therapist, Najma worked in a variety of school and community-based programs, including as a psychiatric associate on a child and adolescent mental health unit, and as a classroom special education teacher. She has extensive experience collaborating with parents and families in supporting the mental health needs of their children.

Najma completed her bachelor’s degree in Developmental Psychology through the University of MN-Twin Cities, and is currently in the final year of her master’s program in Clinical Psychology at St. Mary’s University of MN. She works under the supervision of Jessy Conners, LMFT, and Michelle Peterson, LMFT.
