MA, LMFT
Dinah Haro, MA, LMFT (she/her) is a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 15 yrs experience working with individuals and couples. Dinah received her master’s degree in Integral Counseling Psychology from The California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Francisco, CA and a bachelor’s degree in Child Psychology from The University of Minnesota.
Dinah specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, including but not limited to–generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), obsessive/intrusive thoughts, specific phobias, agoraphobia, social anxiety, PTSD and some forms of obsessive compulsive disorder. She knows first-hand how demoralizing, debilitating and isolating coping with chronic anxiety can be. It can wreak havoc on our most important relationships and limit our ability to grow and take risks. Not to mention our ability to be authentic, playful, creative and flexible while being empathetic and patient with ourselves and others.
Dinah has completed intermediate to advanced levels of training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy–a modern day offshoot of Psychoanalysis, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MCBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Polyvagal Theory, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP): considered to be the gold standard treatment for OCD.
With Dinah you will explore issues of authenticity, self-assertion, control and perfectionism. Examine strengths, core values, and incorporate concepts of self care that acknowledge your needs. Learn to set boundaries, slow down and define reasonable expectations and explore and identify maladaptive patterns of thoughts, feelings and beliefs – while cultivating a more nurturing and compassionate inner dialogue.
